Who we are...
The 40 Developmental Asset Sub-Committee is one of 11 sub-committees which form the foundation of the District of Mission Social Development Plan, and has been around since April of 2008.
The 40 Developmental Asset Sub-Committee assures that its membership is representative of two needs:
- Youth inclusion - This means youth are equal members and have real responsibilities
- Representative Community Membership - The committee includes all aspects of the district, including aboriginal peoples, social service providers, citizens, teachers, community leaders, faith groups, business people, etc.
Our structure
- Have a co-chair structure - Adult & Youth
- Support structure for "Specific Action Groups"
- We hold regular meetings at times and places that allow youth inclusion
Despite being from all walks of life, our members have one thing in common: We value the 40 Assets, we recognize the power they have to transform a community, and we are dedicated to their promotion in the District of Mission.
