OPTIMIX Magazine
The OPTIMIX MAGAZINE is an innovated program created by the Mission Optimist Club in partnership with the Mission Literacy Association; and produced by our JOOI club (Junior Optimist Octagon International). The JOOI club is a group of high school age teens looking to better themselves and our community.
Optimix is lead by Optimist President, Rhett Nicholson, who has 12 years of Graphic Design and 14 years of printing experience, along with Tannis Sullivan from Mission Literacy Association. Training will also come from reporters for local papers and magazines and various other members of the community. Sue's Copy Place has agreed to let the JOOI club make use of all her equipment and print at cost with no mark up. Optimix is an edgy, non-profit magazine. written solely by Mission's youth, from getting advertisement to in depth reporting, news, art and poetry. Everything from pencil to print completely produced by the kids.
The magazine will be distributed to all the schools plus coffee shops, doctors offices, and other participating local businesses. Check out the Optimist website at www.optimist.org.
